Just as Manardra arrived at Officer Training School in Alabama, stepping into a new chapter of her life, Patrick also found himself at the start of something unexpected when he sent a simple message on Instagram. What began as a casual conversation quickly became something neither of them could have planned.
Even as distance came into play, with Manardra moving to Mississippi, both she and Patrick chose to stay committed to getting to know each other. Their connection grew stronger through late-night conversations, constant check-ins, and shared laughter that made the miles between them feel smaller. Before long, messages turned into visits, and each moment together confirmed what they were beginning to feel: this was something real.

Patrick planned his 38th birthday trip to Vail, Colorado, but it turned into the perfect surprise. He booked a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snowy mountains and even hired a secret photographer to capture the moment.
When the horse stopped for a break and they stepped out, Patrick got down on one knee with a stunning ring. Without missing a beat, Manardra yelled, “Finally!” followed by lots of laughter, a few tears, and an easy “yes.” The perfect start to forever.
